Prof. Yan Lou, Director of Computer Center of China Medical University, talent from abroad, Y2K problem-solving expert specially hired by the Canadian government, the pioneer of VR/AR and Big Data courses and teaching materials as well as Internet+ teaching in domestic universities.
Prof. Lou won the first prize of Educational Innovation of China Medical Education Association for three consecutive years, from 2017to 2019. In 2019, he won the first prize of the National Teacher Education Information Exchange Activity within Higher Education Group in Informatization Teaching Curriculum Case, the National University Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Innovation Alliance Academic Innovation Award and Teaching Innovation Award, Henan Provincial Department of Education Innovative Application Undergraduate College First Class Award, National Institute of Computer Basic Education Research Institute of Computer Basic Education Excellent Teacher Award. He also won First Prize of Undergraduate Teaching Achievement of General Higher Education in Liaoning Province in 2018. In 2018 and 2019, he won the honor of Outstanding Teacher of China Medical University for two consecutive years.
He presided over and participated in 18 national, provincial and ministerial-level projects, edited and published 40 college textbooks and 6 monographs. He has 20 papers from the National Copyright Administration, and published more than 80 papers in SCI, EI, and Chinese core papers (the highest impact factor is 5.5). His students won 6 national first prizes, 4 second prizes, and more than 10 provincial-level and ministerial-level first and second prizes with his guidance.
Since 2013, he has been the first to offer big data and virtual reality and augmented reality courses for undergraduates in colleges and universities across the country, and has carried out a subversive reform of the traditional domestic teaching mode. Prof. Lou independently researched and developed three online teaching platforms: local area network teaching platform, Internet teaching resource platform and big data teaching informatization platform, which fully realized the digitalization of basic computer teaching from theory, experiment to examination, and integrated online and offline multi-methods teaching model. The teaching model has been extended to dozens of universities across the country and has achieved good social benefits. He has helped brother colleges and universities across the country to develop more than 60 virtual simulation projects, and has been invited to speak at national colleges and conferences hundreds of times. He is an active promoter of domestic VR/AR, Big Data and intelligent medical engineering.
